Splashbacks For Kitchens

Kitchens never cease to amaze. You might think that you have seen the end of renovations and modifications only to realize that you have left out a very important detail. Splashbacks for kitchens are a must have in today’s kitchen, and without them you are not finished with the repairs. Splashbacks are best fitted around the cooking area where a lot of fat and oils are bound to splash as you cook. Therefore, splashbacks should be made of materials that do not soak the oil or fat, are easy to clean and have a polished look to it. In the market today, there are many varieties of kitchen splashbacks, but perhaps the most popular are the ones that are designed form of glass, stainless steel or tiles.

Generally, the idea is that you can get a splashback for your kitchen that will suit your taste or you can have one custom cut for you. Especially with the glass or the stainless steel splashbacks, you must have the company cut one for you according to the size of your kitchen. Although most kitchen sizes today are standardized, not all of our kitchens adhere to the standard measurements. The tiled splashback is even better because you can make one for your kitchen, according to your color and size choices.

If you like glasses, then you are in luck because glass splashback are available in all colors, sizes and makes. You can get a color that will fit in very well with the paint that you have put on the walls. This way, you will get the best out of the market. If you want one that will go above the hob, then probably you will want to get the one that measures roughly about 1200mm x 1500 mm, but again, this standard size can be adjusted to any size that you want.

The other size is quite long and it is fixed under the hob.

For the glass splashback installation, then you will only require some silicone gum to fix it into place or any other gum that will stick and stay that way forever. After you fit it in and fix it, then you should fill in the gum around all the edges of the glass. Then wait for it to dry up before you work there. For the stainless steel splashback installation, what you need is an electric hand drill, a number of screws, wall plugs and a couple of steel drill bits that are the right size. The job should be easy if you follow the manufacturer’s installation manual.
