Electric Light Bulbs

In today’s time we need light right from the time we wake up early morning till the time we go to bed. But during ancient years when no kind of electric light was present you can understand the situation. During those days the only source was either oil lamps or gas light. Using gas light was very pathetic. Gas light used once would leave a stain behind wherever it is kept.

But later during the 1870’s, scientist named Thomas Edison invented the so called electric bulb which has turned out to be still useful. Before Edison’s invention, a basic idea about the bulb had already been designed however the filament material was not found. Edison was the one to provide this main part. Thomas Edison’s Lightening theory consisted of a series of light called circuit. The only drawback of this was, in case even a single bulb fails then it would affect the entire series of light.

Therefore, Thomas Edison decided to invent such kind of electric lights which would be very safe and reliable and at the same time not very expensive. Also these electric lights could be a substitute for the pathetic gas lights as well as their bad effects. In order to produce such electric light bulbs Thomas Edison worked for years and conducted various experiments so that he could give people the required result. Finally, around the year 1879 Edison demonstrated the first bulb called incandescence light.

The various kinds of Electric light bulbs available are:

Incandescent Light Bulbs:

These kinds of electric light bulbs can be powered using the incandescence- known as the light emissions driven by heat. The incandescent bulbs are formed when the electric current moves through the tiny filament in order to heat them till the time there is a light. These bulbs are tightly closed to ensure that there is no oxygen moving inside the bulb because of which it might split up.

Fluorescent light Bulbs:

Fluorescent bulbs are a type of gas discharge bulb that could use electricity to combine with mercury vapors. The atoms present in mercury if stimulated begin to produce short-wave ultraviolet lights. These ultraviolet lights create a kind of fluorescent light that we see.

Energy Efficient Light Bulbs:

Compact fluorescent light bulbs are generally referred to the Energy efficient light bulbs. Recently these bulbs were designed as a substitute to the usual fluorescent bulbs. These bulbs provide similar light quantity however use lesser electrical energy and also have a long life.
