Light Bulbs Spectrum
Speaking of light spectrum, only a few people would be aware of what it all entails. The light spectrum simply means all the colors of light. When the term white spectrum is used, it basically means the full spectrum. The normal light you see is called the white light. It is part of the electromagnetic band. The white light is the only visible light of the magnetic spectrum. To view other light bands; namely, ultraviolet and infrared, specialized tools and equipments are used to determine their existence. The white light is a combination of several colors; they all possess different characteristics and therefore it is easy to single out one from the other. However, the dissociation of the white light can not be done by the normal human eye. The best known means is to make the white light incident in glass where it will be refracted at different angles hence allowing it to be visible.
Full spectrum bulbs and diodes are the most common in every household. They are used to provide a light almost similar to natural light. However, the intensity differs and thus may not be as reliable as the original source- the sun. Light bulb spectrum of different colors can be made in both the LEDs and normal incandescent bulbs. The colors that make up the full spectrum are red, yellow, green, blue and violet among others. You must have once in a while seen single unit-colored bulbs; these are ones made by exposing white light to different conditions to allow visibility of the definitive colors in the spectrum. For example, incandescent bulbs use inert gases inside their tubing. It is known that some of the inert gases possess the property to absorb certain light frequencies and allow a specific wavelength to pass through the tubing –the outright result of this will be a single color visible from the outside of the bulb casing.
When it comes to buying bulbs, it will be uneasy to identify them by color only. To counter this, they are coded using temperature scales which identify their color intensity. The brightness is measured in Kelvin. The principle of its working is that the light is compared to natural lights temperature which is 6500K; any man-made source that manages to generate such light is termed as the best reading lights. Lower temperatures will mean the bulb has dim lighting and will be suitable in lowly lit settings.
