Preparations for a camping kitchen need to be thorough and up to detail. Take time to carefully put down all that you require on a list to avoid ruining your camping holiday or trip when you run out of supplies.

1. The first thing that you will need to think about is the storage facility. Check whether it has adequate space. You might not be able to obtain a refrigerator; so it is better to settle for items that are already packed and do not require preservation in terms of cooling.

2. Arrange the menu of the meals that you will be having in the camping site and purchase all the ingredients since you might not be able to access any shopping center from the camping site. Any food that will be consumed that day should be defrosted and the rest should be left in a frozen state. Put all raw meat at the bottom of the freezing box. Ice layers should be alternated with food items that you store. Do not store drinks in the same place as raw meat.

3. Put all the utensils together in a bag. The utensils should include pots, pans, wooden spoons, plates, knives and forks. Wooden spoons are convenient since they do not get too hot while cooking like metallic ones or melt as plastic spoons do.

4. Remember to carry a lot of water, soap and wiping towels for use after you wash the utensils. A first aid kit is a must have and it should contain a mosquito and snake bite repellent.

5. If you like camping more often, you might as well keep the camping equipment and necessities separate from the ones you use regularly at home for quicker preparations when you want to go camping.

6. Once on the camping spot, establish your camping outdoor kitchen near your cooking place and closer to your cooking spot if using firewood. The fire should be away from dry bushes and any combustible substance. Set every type of food or ingredient in its own separate place. Clean chopping boards all the time after use with detergent and a germ killing liquid.

7. A meal that has different types of courses should be prepared by different people to avoid contamination and damages that are caused by temperature changes if the ingredients are left out in the open for too long. Begin with the meal that takes the longest to be ready and wind up with the ones that need less time.

8. Follow all the rules and regulations when getting rid of all the waste and rubbish if you are using public camping sites.
