Camping opens up a whole new outdoor world you may not have experienced before. Camping is an activity which takes you to the heart of nature, mostly away from the hustle and bustle of civilization, and you spend at least a night in a tent in such surroundings. It has become a popular recreational activity and many people prefer to spend their holidays in this manner although one cannot say it is the most comfortable.

Camping in the outdoor world you have to sleep in a sleeping bag on hard ground, make your own food over a fire and the bathroom is outside in the bushes. Once you have got the thrill of living in the open wilderness you will not mind these so called discomforts. Camping is a great activity that many families and friends do together and these trips leave behind many memorable moments.

If you are a newbie at camping in the outdoor world, you can first get a taste of it by booking a camp site at specially designated camp grounds. Here you will not be totally alone and also most of these sites have certain basic facilities like bathrooms, fire rings and so on. Once you have gotten more used to camping than you can just about camp anywhere it is allowed. There are a huge variety of locations which you can choose from all over the country and internationally as well.

Camping in the outdoor world needs proper gear and equipment which has to be well planned before you embark on the trip, as you will not get anything on the camp site, being away from civilization. Generally you will need a tent which is weatherproof and which has a floor lining made of plastic, which will protect you to an extent from the damp and cold ground. The other necessities would be a sleeping bag, soap, stove or other food preparing materials and insect repellant. If there is a natural source of water nearby make sure to boil the water before drinking or use tablets which purify water. Take proper precautions against wild animals like making sounds by hanging bells or even loud conversation would do.
