Compare 0 Credit Cards

0 credit cards are mainly of two types but then there smaller variations from one bank to the next or from one 0 credit account type to the next within the same bank. These variations are basically on time periods involved and the amounts that are required. The major classification is based on the criteria of time period when 0 % interest rate applies.

Some credit issuers give holders a 0 % interest introductory offer upon receiving the credit card. The period varies from lets say two months to seven depending on each credit card issuer. This requires a customer to immediately use his or her credit card upon receiving it for which reason they are encouraged to purchase when there is no interest. What this means that a customer may be able to purchase using the card and if he or she is able to pay within the period of offer then the use of credit card will be completely interest free.

Another instance in which a 0 % credit card offer applies is that if one continues to make his or her minimum payment requirements within the stipulated period without fail, then they will be entitled to, say three months interest free period, for any item purchased later on. Some 0 % credit cards put this condition also subject to a minimum monthly expenditure which can enable a 0 credit card holder to enjoy a given number of months interest free on any purchases before interest charges start accruing.

Other 0 credit cards impose conditions similar to the one above but make the interest free period subject to full and timely payment of statements every month. That if whatever a holder purchases, he or she is able to pay for it in full within the next one month without delays then the holder continues to enjoy 0% interest on the use of that credit card.

The above are basically the types of 0 % credit cards available in the market today. They may vary from one credit card to the next or from one credit issuer to another but the basic principle will be the same and the variations will only be in terms of say the minimum spending requirement, the number of months within which the 0% interest rate applies and the percentage of purchase amount to be paid within the stipulated period. But they are designed to encourage holders to use the credit facilities and to pay very promptly.
