Today, increasingly more people choose to pay their expenses by using credit cards. They are very advantageous because they are easy to handle offering protection to those who use them. Card cloning is a common practice which affects thousands of card users worldwide. Criminals use special devices to produce fake credit card numbers which are then used to make different transactions by accessing someone else’s accounts. For instance, they take real cards as models in order to produce the fake ones. Because most of the clients who posses credit cards use them for shopping online or over the telephone and give away their credit card numbers or other information regarding the account numbers, the expiration date or the three digit number which appears on the back of the credit card, it makes it easier for thieves to duplicate them.

Fake credit cards are used for fraudulent transactions without you even knowing anything about them until too late. Criminals are also able to sell this fake credit card numbers to other numerous thieves. Fortunately fake credit cards are not easy to be made. In order to clone them, thieves use computerized devices to read the information which appears on the real cards. Take Visa cards for example: they have a 16-digit number printed on the back of the credit card which is not randomly arranged for certain reasons. This number is not unique, it may belong to different cardholders but it’s unique for the company which provides it. Thus, rogue customers try to combine them in order to withdraw huge amounts of money.

In order to prevent this from happening, it is essential to be very careful when using your credit card. Keep in mind that credit card numbers are secret. Don’t lend your card to anyone and keep your code secret. When you withdraw your money from the bank, be sure nobody watches when you do the transaction. Usually, thieves install specific devices which are able to read all the personal data from your credit card. Thus, you may find your account empty the next time when you go to the bank. If it happens to loose your credit card, report it urgently so as the bank to close your account. Even if banks provide credit cards which are secured, cared thieves always come with new inventions to be able steal your money. Follow the bank’s instructions accordingly and you won’t need to worry about your savings.
