There are now too many restaurants, which accept credit card readers, that enables customers to pay for their meals they had right at the table. The restaurants that are participating in the credit card processing reader launched a beta version, before the launch, they were hesitant to do it as they thought that the restaurant tables would be rushed. The fast-food restaurants like McDonald's and KFC let the customer to pay with their credit cards at the counter before they get their meal. Whereas table payments are vastly different from counter payments as the diners are sitting down at their tables and being served by the restaurant employees mostly working out with the tips.

The tableside card payments will be a method to avoid the bad tipping approaches, which are typically made by the restaurant waiters and waitresses. The servers believe that this payment mode will be a prevention, deterrent, and restriction towards leaving appropriate tips, particularly in the casual and fast food restaurants like Ground Round, KFC, McDonald's that attract the middle and mediocre level customers, who are not much skilled and experienced in tipping and eating at all the non chain restaurants.

Some of the waiters in this regards believe that the credit card readers will turn out to be the foremost focus while the customers are dining and the card reader machines will not enable them to upset them as the customer would be more concerned towards to bill rather than the dining experience.

In European countries, it is considered extremely normal to pay the bill even at the table, though, table side payments are highly acceptable in the European culture. The American does not prefer this mode of payment as they find it as more of assurance than convenience. It has been said that the there have been skimming frauds made every day at the restaurants. Such kinds of incidents and occurrence are mostly not reported, as the victims do not realize that he/she has been scammed. Because of this scamming process, too many employees where traced with the credit card subtractions, being a restaurant employee.

The manufactures and producer are making a bet that all the restaurants will be purchasing the credit card readers. Each of the credit card reader can go for several hundred dollars. Restaurants will get the benefit from it as the payment procedure will be made at the tables quickly, which will be helpful to the restaurant to earn more money per table, making the waiters earns more as their 'rentals' are spinning quickly.
