There is a long history for Christmas lights; it is very hard to see a Christmas without different kinds of lights all around the city. It is said that in the earlier days Christmas service in the church was filled with candles and hence in the modern world the candle light is replaced with electric lights.

It was a major attraction when the first Christmas tree in Germany was lit with electric bulbs around it, this fashion soon burst out like a wild fire and hence the usage of lights for Christmas became very popular and common in the modern world. Since that time there have been a lot of modifications in the types of electric bulbs that are used for Christmas depending upon the usage.

Some of the uses of the Christmas lights are, to light up the outdoor building. This is usually done in hotels and other important buildings during Christmas season, this type of lights are used to place in the outdoor of a building like an outline. This light is also used for the same purpose on various occasions such as a centenary celebration of a building and so on. The next usage of the Christmas light is to form sentences or names. The lights are places over a metal or wooden frame which forms the shape of an alphabet or a sentence. This can also be commonly seen in the stores and other business places such as restaurants, clubs.

There is a particular usage for Christmas lights in a light sculpture, the Christmas lights are exclusively used to make light sculpture which is very popular during the holiday season. There are even places where light sculpting competitions are held. Most of the Christmas lights are made of mini lights, the mini lights are tied together by wires and hence they look like a rope of lights. This is the most common type of Christmas lights. This mini light is available as a multi-colored light rope or a single color light rope. Based upon the requirement the user can choose to buy the suitable color needed to decorate. Some of the common colors that are available in the mini lights are red, green, blue and yellow. There are also white mini lights available; the light rope is usually available at a certain specific length. On special demand, light rope of big lengths are made and given as per the request.
