Tiles are available in many sizes and designs to suit any section of houses and buildings. Floor tiles, kitchen tiles, ceiling tiles, roof tiles, wall tiles, bathroom tiles, etc. are some of them. Slate, marble, granite, and glass are the materials that we can see more often at showrooms though other materials are also available at present. Religious places, museums, ancient places etc., have amazingly decorated with tiles. They are complex mosaics that stimulate our faith, respect and honor when we visit them.

You rarely find a modern house without bathroom wall tiles. The dimension of an average bathroom wall tile is 4 inch X 4 inch although people now use 8 inch x 10 inch bathroom wall tiles as well. These tiles are usually square or rectangular. Nowadays you can find bathroom wall tiles in other shapes as well. While some people tile only the lower half of bathrooms, others tile the entire floor, walls and even the ceilings of bathrooms.

You can reduce the cost considerably if you use a larger bathroom wall tile instead of the smaller ones. Therefore, many use smaller tiles on the floor and cover the walls with larger tiles. When tiling bathrooms, you have to select tiles that will match with the other accessories and fittings in the bathroom such as vanity sinks, cabinets, and mirrors, tubs etc. Furthermore, the lighting system of a bathroom is a very important aspect to consider when tiling bathrooms. If you are creative in selecting the right tiles, lighting, and other components, you can build a superbly beautiful bathroom.

The use of grout in a contrasting colour to fill the gap between two tiles can be quite striking. If you leave a large gap between tiles, you will have to use a large quantity of grout to fill these gaps. With time, the grout can come out creating spaces that will require extra effort to clean. It is better not to have any space or to have very narrow spaces between the tiling. These spaces can be easily filled with grout. They are durable as well. When you use less grout with glossy tiles, the effect it can give to your bathroom is marvelous. The recommended gap between each bathroom wall tile is about 1/8 of an inch.

By using two types of tiles with two designs, you can create interesting designs. Some people use tiles with many designs and types to decorate bathrooms. Plan the decorations on a whiteboard before tiling to see whether it matches with your bathroom. Draw other bathroom components on the map and color them as well to get the identical image as close as you can. This will help you to avoid any mismatches when you do the actual tiling.
