There are some homeowners who want to have a natural color in their homes; and although blue is a natural color, it is not a color of anything palatable. If you want a blue country kitchen, the color itself needs to be used very carefully or you will not achieve the desired results. Not so many kitchens are blue; what you dream to achieve may backfire as the kitchen might look cold instead. Blue, especially the darker shades cannot work alone; they need to be blended with other colors.

Still though, even if it might not look well to have blue on the wall, it will look great on the floor. Use two shades of blue on the floor tiles. Make the tiles checkered for an even outstanding look. If you use a dark blue and a light yellow on the tiles, you will be having one of the best looking kitchens in the neighborhood.

If you want a blue on the walls, use the very lightest of blue you will find. It should be lighter than sky blue and almost white. Avoid using the darker shades of blue except on the wall. There are many other interesting ways of using dark blue in the kitchen e.g. the dinnerware. Make sure your dinnerware are designed with cheerful colors with blue being one of them. The country kitchen had a lot of blues which were blended well with other colors. Make sure you have some touches of blue in all the appliances you have in the kitchen. Some herbs in the herb garden or some in a vase can have purple flowering herbs in them. Change the curtain and blend some blue into them.
