As always, home is an important part and a basic need of a human beings life, a place to relax, rejoice and a place to feel secure.

Now-a-days bathroom is not just a place to bath, but also a place to relax inside home. So people are giving much importance to decorate their bathrooms with their own taste and style. And now mostly all prefers contemporary style, with simple and sleek look.

Bathrooms can be built or remodeled according to our budget and style. While building a new bathroom it is always better to consider enough space with enough lighting. For flooring, tiles are always recommended and the selection of tiles should be of anti-skid type. Bathroom can be separated to dry and wet area, which is for more hygienic. Always keep a glass separation or any other separation between them, if possible. Wet area is the area where the usage of water is present and possible to get the floor and wall wet, like shower, wash basin etc.

The wall of dry area can be covered with paint or wall paper preferred with your likes, so that it can be changed after a few years and the wetted areas are preferred with tiles on wall, as it will be easy to clean. The color of the bathroom should be selected based on the space of the bathroom. If it is a small room, then it is preferred to have light colours. Bathroom towels and accessories should match to the wall. Also carpets should be selected suitable to wall or floorings. Dry area can be decorated with art paintings, dry flowers, flower vases, scented candles, pebbles etc.

Mirror in the bathroom is to be arranged in such a way that while anyone looks to mirror the light should fall on that person’s face. If proper natural lighting is not available, then additional lighting should be installed. Suitable cabinets should be arranged to keep bath room accessories. Also preferred to keep caddies at shower and wash basin areas.

Bathroom should be designed based on the age. Child bathroom should be more colorful and attractive with cartoon characters or their favorite heroes, and as for elderly parents bathroom should have proper support and easy entrance.

If it is possible to afford a Jacuzzi or spa then it would be a wonderful idea. Bathrooms with TV, telephone and internet facility is not uncommon. It is to be noted that while designing a bathroom all these parameters to be measured and implemented based on the taste of the occupants.
