Designing with the assistance of a professional is actually a sub-category of the above mentioned ways of designing a kitchen. When you design your kitchen based on your needs there will be situations where your design invariably needs the assistance of a professional. Same is the case with the second parameter as well because designing based on budget means that we will have to put in lots of brains in analyzing the materials to be used in kitchen, the finishes to be used etc.

Thus in the end it all zeroes down to the professional way of designing. However a kitchen can be designed without the help of a professional as well but there will not be the same perfection as achieved by a professional.
