Small bathrooms can be stressful; but at the same time, they can be more if used carelessly. This is why it is imperative to keep your small bathroom clutter free as possible, because then, you will be able to enjoy the feeling of comfort and serenity that should be found there. For a small bathroom design, make sure that as many of its fixtures as possible are wall-mounted as opposed to floor-mounted. You can also get ceiling-mounted lighting fixtures as these will not interfere with the floor or the walls.

Make maximum use of small space that is available by installing shelves on all free spaces, while lat the same time making sure that they are way beyond head space so that you do not knock your head on them anytime you enter the bathroom. Some of the said space could be above the pedestal mounted sinks whereby you can install the shelves which can hold all the toiletries. This will leave the counter free and will give your bathroom a roomy feeling. When you mount wall mirrors, then you should tilt them at an angle that should make them reflect each other to give a sense of more space inside the walls. Care should be taken such that you do not walk into them because they can be confusing.

Use lightly colored tiles for the walls and the floor as these add a sense of space to your small bathroom. When you install the lighting fixtures, make sure that you use LED lighting fixtures because they come with a bluish tinge to their light that gives a sense of peace. As well as saving yourself some money on power costs, they also make your bathroom look artistic and more spacious by accentuating the corners. Remember too that proper lighting can be used to downplay the spots that are not pleasing while at the same time highlighting the areas that you want to place emphasis on.

However, should the need arise, a small bathroom can always be renovated, and its size increased. This would require the demolition of existing walls and extending the bathroom structure. It might seem easy; but at the same time, it might drastically alter the general architectural design of the house while at the same time eating into your account. It is therefore recommended that you use it as it is, only do not make it worse by clattering the available space with stuff.
