The face should also be covered as well for protection from chemicals that could cause serious burns and other injuries or hot sparks to name a couple. For guarding against the inhale of materials that are harmful if breathed in, a source of respiratory protection and oxygen deficiency is essential. Also necessary are ear protections for prevention of high noise injury.

There is also a need for arm and hand coverage to prevent hazardous chemicals that can cause burns, irritations as well as items responsible for cuts and abrasions. Legs and feet also need protective coverings and should include boots or safety shoes and thick leg coverings. Working with chemical process equipment will always have risk, many of which result with accidental contamination and exposure to the chemicals at hand. All products should be stored in clearly marked containers and include instructions in the case of injury or spill.

The working area should also be equipped with items for protection and accidents including equipment for dousing a chemical fire. There are different sources for putting out fires and there should be proper equipment available for all possible types of fire outbreak. There should also be emergency phones with easy access, monitoring devices for gas and gas masks. A chemical plant is required to have all equipment necessary for every possible injury or accident. There are scheduled inspections on a regular basis in this form of environment and the chemical process equipment must all be up to code.
