Office Computer Equipment

Office computer equipment generally refers to various parts in a computer. These include many peripheral devices such as external hard drives, servers, printers, UPS and so on. Anything which is related to a computer can be classified as office computer equipment. There are different categories of computer equipment.

Computer parts make up the very essence of office computer equipment. Parts such as a RAM and the motherboard are all essential elements in a computer. The parts which are inside a computer are what allow the computer to function. These include a motherboard, RAM, hard drive, a video card, a sound card, network card and an optical drive which can be either a CD or DVD drive.

A computer consists of a monitor which has two types commonly used. One is the LCD or liquid crystal display and the other type of monitor is CRT or cathode ray tube. CRT is becoming less known in the current market as consumers seems to prefer light and think screens. The LCD comes in the form of a flat screen. Monitors are now produced with newer technology which has a light emitting diode. This is known as LED and this technology may well overpass monitors with LCD screen in the next few years.

Computer equipment comes in many forms and is not necessarily attached to a monitor. Devices used for networking are also some kind of computer equipment. For example the wireless router can be classified as office computer equipment. These devices allow computers to connect to other computers and so it creates a work station in itself. The modems and severs are also networking devices and part of the computer equipment.

Peripherals are the collective term used for all major kinds of computer equipment. These devices enhance the functionality of the computer by being attached to the computer itself. The commonly used peripheral as an office computer equipment is the printer. Some of these peripherals are very similar to the inside parts found in a computer. For example, the external hard drive provides the user with more storage. The external video card is another good example that is used to attach an extra monitor with the use of a USB port.

When purchasing office computer equipment it is wise to take a good look at the current market. You should get as many quotes as possible from different vendors. Even if your purchase is small vendors generally don’t give the best pricing and always leave a small margin. The vendors that need to be considered must be from IT companies. Ensure that these vendors offer a good after sales service and fast delivery time.
