Designing a Victorian bathroom is a bit challenging but it is also a fun project. When selecting Victorian bathroom lighting it is best to ensure that the lighting will create an ambient look which is shadow free and glare free. If it is a smaller bathroom where Victorian bathroom lighting needs to be installed a mirror can be used to illuminate the whole room, but if the bathroom is much larger a fixture can be attached to the ceiling which can then be used to illuminate the room in general.

In a Victorian bathroom lighting setting, the basic lighting such as on each side of the mirror a sconce can be set up. This way our face will be illuminated evenly on both sides. In a Victorian setting bulbs which illuminate the better kind of light is an incandescent bulb. Use a warm white bulb if you are interested in saving energy or else use a cool white bulb which is more flattering in the bathroom. If you select a Victorian style lighting it provides you with the best quality for your everyday tasks. This does not have an interior décor which creates a decorative style but it acts as a functional task.

To create Victorian lighting in a bathroom there needs to be a Victorian accent and decorations. There needs to be a complete transformation when designing a Victorian style bathroom with lighting. There needs to be an antique touch which consists of a sink made of white porcelain or a cabinet case made of rich mahogany.

Sconces have been a popular part of the Victorian bathroom era. These traditional sconces recreate the ambience of Victorian lighting in bathrooms. Some of the fixtures of this period include gas fixtures, and these gas fixtures were then transferred to electric fixtures. The gas fixtures were recreated to electric lighting during the modern era. For instance a Victorian sconce was made of solid brass. While this was originally a gas fixture during the modern time it was converted. A Victorian sconce which is similar to an ornate is made in such a way that it is flanked by a mirror. This sconce is represented with a flamed torch made of glass shades.
