Bathroom Corner Showers

Corner showers are especially great for space conservation. They are usually fixed at the bathroom corners and that is where they got their name from. From a distance, they look like free standing fixtures that are not attached to the main supply lines ‘probably because they stand alone at the corner without any seeming support. The only other fixtures that they go with are the run and stop cock that is used to turn the water off or on. It is fixed at elbow level to give one easy access. The other fixture is of course the shower head and this comes in many designs. It could as well be connected to an instant water heater.

There is a variety of shower heads but perhaps the most common one is the detachable variety that is fixed at the end of the shower pipe. This one has a flexible pipe that is quite long to allow movement while in the shower. However, it cannot be connected with an instant water heater because it has to be held by hand; one would be risking electrocution. It is preferred for small bathrooms because then, one can take a shower wherever there is space. The overhead showerhead seems to hang from the ceiling whereas it is actually attached to the corner shower stand. This one is fixed and has no flexibility at all. It is a good preference for large bathrooms that will not require lot of movement while in the shower room. The overhead shower requires a different kind of piping that can go though the wall and then emerge through the bathroom ceiling. This shower directs a jet of water vertically. Because of this, a lot of water may splash off to the walls and it would be advisable to waterproof them.

Standard shower heads are fixed right at the top of the shower pipe from where they throw a jet of water into any position that one may twist the shower head to face. They are preferred for small spaces and mostly corners where they stay permanently. The jet of water that they spout out can be controlled by twisting the shower head any way one wants. Bathroom corner Showers are easy to install once the piping has been done. They are self-fitting, meaning that you only have to tie them up with your hand and they are ready to use. For the most efficient shower head that would fit your bathroom, you should get advice from a contractual builder or an interior decorator.
