There are different types of lamp that is in use today, a lamp is said to be the instrument which holds the bulb and the electrical components or the source required to produce light. There are different designs and types of lamps. Lamps have been in use since ancient times, now also some stores sell antique style lamps.

Some of the types are oil lamps, electric lamps, Chinese lamp, and fire lamp. The lamp to be placed or fit in a house is chose based on the requirements of the user. Lamps can use different sources to produce light; in today’s world most of the lamps are electrical. Almost all the lamps used at home or a building is an electric lamp. It consists of bulb and the necessary circuit. The bulbs may be of different types, ranging from a small to big size. There are bulbs which work in different power supplied; it is usually described by watts. There are lamps that house bulbs of different running capacity.

In the modern days, many people prefer buying a low power consumption lamp. It has got many advantages, it cuts the electricity bill and it also saves energy. There are lamps that are available for lighting the house and also for decoration. There are the 3 light lamps that are available, it is usually fancy and it is mounted on a pole. This type of 3 light lamps is usually used for adding beauty to the house or a pathway. It is designed in the shape of an olden day street lamp and hence it is mounted on a pole. The pole is usually painted black, the lamp contains a glass covering or shade and there are three of them. This type of lamp gives an antique look to the place where it is mounted; the lamp consists of a clear glass. Inside the glass the bulb is placed. The bulb can be of the natural type which glows yellow or the modern kind which glows white. The 3 light lamps available today consist of white bulbs which consume less power.

Other than the lamp post type, the 3 light lamps are available in other designs also. This type of 3 light lamps can be used wall lights or outdoor lights. Almost all the 3 light lamps consist of a clear glass which houses the light bulb inside the glass covering of the lamp.
