Perhaps, there is no person who does not know who uses the so called flashing green lights. It is an issue studied by pupils at the age of 10 because it is a really significant question which needs to be discussed at safety traffic-classes.

So, the flashing green lights are, of course, used by the firefighters. Everybody has seen such flashing green lights on the fire trucks. However, we could see them flashing only because the group of firefighters are going to a place where there is a fire. And perhaps, you already understand why firefighters do this- come on, it is obvious! Those flashing green lights are placed on the “roof” of the fire trucks because they are what show the other people who are driving that the firefighters are in a hurry because there is a fire in the town, for example.

But do you know what the other drivers should do when they see a fire truck coming with green lights flashing. Well, the first thing which the others should do is slowing down quickly and letting the fire truck leave them behind. Even if you the traffic lights shows green, you need to wait until the fire truck passes- hopefully, you know that the fire trucks with flashing green lights are allowed to cross even if the traffic lights is red.

However, you should know that the flashing green lights are not placed only on the fire trucks. They could be often seen on ordinary vehicles and they could even be flashing. It would not be surprising if you started wondering what is going on and whether you still have to let the vehicle with the flashing green light leave you behind. Well, the answer of that question is “Yes”! And you should do that because those vehicles’ owners are usually fire fighters who are on their way to a place where an accident has happened!

Let me guess- right now you are wondering what would happen if you did not do what you are obliged to, aren’t you? Well, if you are lucky, you will get a fine of several thousand dollars but in the worse case you might be forbidden to drive a vehicle for a certain period of time. I know that nobody would like that to happen to him or her and that is why you should not be so stupid and make such a mistake and rule-brake. And please do not forget that by doing such a stupid thing you might be responsible for the life-loss of many people!
