The types of lights used by people can be divided into three categories. These are: hanging, recessed and flush lights. The uses of these lights highly depend on ones preference. Apart from that, there are other factors that influence the type of light to be used. For the hanging lights, for example, you find that they are most suitable in rooms where the ceiling is high. For the other two options, they are best suited for low ceiling use.

Flush ceiling lights are the kind of lights that are fixed on the ceiling right onto it. This is to mean that they do not do not leave room for hanging. They are ideal for places like the kitchen where one could do well without the distraction of hanging lights. This is important since the kitchen is a place where fatal accidents can occur. There are usually many sharp objects there, not to mention fire, hot food and fluids. The flush lights are good because they attract very little attention to them and thus minimize the probability of accidents occurring, especially the ones directly linked to hanging lights.

Also, they are good for places that have low ceilings. As suggested earlier hanging lights are good in places where there is ample vertical space. Flush ceiling lights therefore work well to reduce the appearance of a room being clustered. This could even make the room seem smaller even though that needn’t be true. A good example is the bathroom and the garage. The garage requires this kind of light as opposed to a hanging one, which may create shadows when blocked by high standing wares.

The other advantage of this kind of lights is that they are usually big with bright light that is capable of reaching all around the room.

They are usually fluorescent light making them ideal for places that need to stay lit up for long periods of time. Fluorescent light are good at energy saving especially when they are not switched on and off. The secret is to keep the lights on for as long as they are needed or at least till bed time when no one will unnecessarily need to go into the room. This energy saving quality of the flush lights make them good for saving a dollar or two in the power bills and therefore quite a bright idea.
