Here are some tips in designing your own garden deck:

1. Put safety above anything

o It could be that beautification is your primary objective in designing your garden deck but always keep in mind that the safety is never compromised. Make sure that stairs, doorways, the perimeters and the steps are properly lighted to insure that no accidents will happen late at night. Always emphasize on the hazardous part of the deck so that people would see it. Your own kids might be harmed because of the inadequate lighting in the hazardous areas.

2. Tame down the light

o Avoid the use of glary lights in your deck. It is not nice when you sit to relax then there is this light that’s glaring your eyes. Use soft tone lights if possible to avoid the lights from bouncing off the surface. Use lights that could create an ambiance of peace so that you would feel relaxed after a long day’s work.

3. Do light testing

o Before you install the lights in your deck, test if the lights look good or they would light the right part of your deck. Use flashlights to test for spotlights and any lights that have a direct beam. Always make sure that you test the lights that you will be using before you install them. Also, make sure to keep the cables out of sight so that it would look good.
