Indoor String Lights

Indoor string lights would be needed especially for times like Christmas when it would be necessary to light up your Christmas tree. Here again, it would make sense to invest in good indoor string lights which do no trip frequently and which would last for a long time. If the quality is really good, it would last for years – one could pack it up after Christmas and use it again the next year.

There are different approaches that people take in lighting up their Christmas tree. Some would begin at the top and then move downwards, some wrap the tree only whereas there are others who would go and take the trouble to light up each branch as well. Some would take the easy out and light up only the front whereas there are others who would do the back as well.

There are some tips which will help you in doing an easier job.

One would be to first test the lights and see if they are working – even if the master one at the center is not working, the entire string would not work. If that is the case then it makes sense to first fix the lights and then begin assembling them on the tree. Just imagine if you have taken the trouble of fixing the lights laboriously on the entire tree and then you discover that the lights are not working you will have to dismantle the lights, fix it and then reassemble then again-there would be a lot of time lost which can be avoided by taking due care. There are some who fix the lights while they are “on”- this may not be a sensible thing to do as if the wires are faulty you could get an electricity shock.

Another tip would be to begin at the bottom of the tree in the back center. The advantage of this would that the portion of the lights between the outlet (which is generally close to the floor) and the tree is not visible. The other advantage is that you do not have to stretch the lights farther than what is absolutely necessary.

A third tip would be to leave a gap of atleast three inches between the rows of lights – one advantage is that when lights are on for a long time, quite a lot of heat is generated and if the quality of wires is not very good then there is the danger that they may melt -if no one is around, it could even result in a fire with disastrous consequences if left undetected for a long time.
