White Wall Light

For decorating with a white wall light the options are very forgiving. There are many styles to choose from with certain styles that will look like pieces of art as opposed to the lighting. There are options such as vintage style, contemporary, traditional and hundreds of in betweens.

The most stunning and eye catching are sconces. These will give the room a wonderful, romantic and warming look. The sconce lights are usually mounted to a plaque made from wood, metal, glass or ceramic. The sconce does not sit flush against the wall so it will provide a halo of light effect to the white wall. These are perfect in a bedroom or sitting room where you do not need a massive amount of light but enough light to read or be comfortable.

Some of the gorgeous lighting to put with a white wall includes art deco porcelain which looks great when it is hung on an opposite wall of the white wall that is a dark rich color. The color of the porcelain is a striking white which will pull the two walls together with a great modern touch.

For a rustic or cabin style look the Sheffield style will pop on a white wall. These are very ornamental sconces that are designed to look like antlers. The lighting fixture will hang from each tip of the antler and the sconce will have a gorgeous design.

The craftsman style sconce looks fantastic in a bungalow or décor with a craftsman style. These are normally made from a black cast iron and will have a globe with a variegated color or an opaque white. They also may occasionally be found with the bright white globe that looks like the white vases found in many flea markets. The light is really bright due to the globe usually being somewhat clear or opaque. This looks stunning on a pure white wall.

A romantic or storybook style is generally black metal with a yellow shade. The bulb is always shaped like a candle to give it the antique look. A Sconce with a fluted shade with a downward point is an English Tudor style which also has a somewhat of antique feel to it.

These are only a brief sampling of the different and wonderful styles of possible white wall lights that will give the room a pulled together look. When one wall is a different color and the other three are a stark white it helps to add a white lighting fixture to the darker wall. This will make the room appear larger and brighter when the lights are lit.
