Led Brake Light

If you engage in outdoor activities like camping, then you may know that battery life is an important thing, particularly if you have limited battery space. One significant way of saving power is by converting the existing luminous light to an LED light. LED is short the form of ‘light emitting diode’. These lights provide lighting differently from common radiant or glowing lighting systems. The greatest benefit for a camper is that LED lights need very little energy to function, and one does not have to be worried about switching off lights when not needed.

For a characteristic traveling trailer of about 27 feet with a couple of bunker beds, you may need about 20 or more 12-watt glowing bulbs. If all of these were to be present at one given moment, you would be using about ‘20 amps of DC power’. In such a scenario, a single group of 24 12-watt batteries would be almost exhausted after a few hours. Even if they were two batteries, you may not have sufficient power for a 2-day weekend without recharging.

However, if you replaced each internal glowing bulb in the fabricated trailer with a 24 LED collection of warm colored lamps, each one using up about 190 mA, the total power consumed would drop to 3.8 amps, nearly 5 times less consumption that the other system. Most likely, you would not replace each glowing bulb with 24 LED lamps. However, it is possible, and if so, you would be consuming 5 times less energy, even if every light was switched on.

There are various avenues you may apply LED lighting systems. There are individual lights, like night and reading lights, interior lights, exterior lighting, and so on. It will all depend on your resources, and the ultimate goal you intend to achieve. Replacing every glowing bulb may not be that cheap, but a few LED lights can still save substantial power.

The use of a single LED for light, say, in the bedroom, is quite advantageous. If you need to get up in the deep of the night, the light is not blinding at all. Equally, LED brake lights have the same effect, and they are not as ‘harsh’ as the other lighting solutions for brake lights. If you need to change a few lights, especially those over the bed, there are LED lights that require no modification, except for substituting bulbs.
