Led Interior Lights

LED construes to mean light-emitting diode which is simply a semiconductor gadget that helps convert power from electricity into light using electron movements. LED lights date back to the 1920s when they were invented in Russia before they spread to other parts of the world. They reached the US and used practically in the 1960s and were first put into practical use by General Electric. By late 60s, and due to their efficiency, the Monsanto Corporation became the first company to officially produce LED lights in mass, and it was only a matter of time before Hewlett-Packard used LED lights in its early calculators.

LED interior lights are lights that use LEDs as their source of light or illumination. Unlike the traditional bulbs, LEDS interior lights can be placed onto traditional lamps and function the same was as most other light bulbs. Most interior lighting comes from a fluorescent or an incandescent light bulb. Needless to mention, the LED interior lights are much more energy and cost efficient compared to fluorescent or incandescent bulbs.

The biggest advantage of LED interior lights is their less energy consumption, in actual sense, the LED interior lights are 300% more energy efficient when compared to a Compact Fluorescent Light (CFL), and when compared to an incandescent light, they are 1,000% more energy efficient. Second advantage to consumers is that they are quite long-lasting and can last up to 13 years when used at 70%, 50,000 hours of use of their original power.

Because the interior lights don’t emit any UV (ultra violet), they don’t attract bugs in the house, they contain no mercury or any harmful toxin, they don’t heat up much hence are cool to touch, they do not generate any radio frequency waves hence augur well with TV and radios. Lastly, they are resistant to shocks and vibrations.

LED interior lights have a directional nature meaning they are best used in hallways and stairways, as night lights, or as reading lamps. They are also ideal for under the kitchen counters, lights that are turned on and off regularly.

Note also that there are disadvantages for LED interior lights too. For one, they are somewhat expensive to buy. Secondly, they are sensitive to heat thus if they are used on an unstable and inconsistent source of power, they will fade quicker or stop working all the same. Lastly, as mentioned, they are best suited as directional lights and not really to light rooms.
