The strobe light is nothing but a stroboscopic lamp and it produces regular flashes of light. The stroboscopic lamp is popularly known as strobe. The name has been derived from the Greek strobes, which simply means the act of whirling. These strobe lights are commonly used in scientific and industrial areas. It is even used for the anti collision in aircrafts. Other than these, they are commonly used for theatrical lighting, alarm systems and as running lights with high visibility. They are widely used in law enforcements and also in emergency vehicles. However, they are currently being replaced by, the LED technology and similarly the Strobe lights replaced halogen lights at one time.

LED stands for light emitting diode. This is nothing but a semiconductor light source. These LEDs are used commonly for indication purpose in many devices and these days are also being used for lighting purposes. Initially when the LED was introduced in 1962, it emitted only red light of extremely low intensity. However, the availability of the modern versions across the Ultraviolet, visible and infrared with extremely high brightness has taken it places. These days the LED products have becomes extremely expensive. In fact, it is costlier than fluorescent lamp having comparable output. Compact size LEDs are also available these days and the best part is that these allow the development of sensors, videos and even new text.
