Propane is used as a fuel for number for heating and cooking devices, they are also widely used as the source fuel for portable stoves and other cooking devices which need constant heat supply. There are also griddles available which use propane as their fuel, a grill can be placed above the griddle and the cooking can be done.

A griddle is similar to a stove except that instead of normal burners, the griddle has a grill above it. The grill is made of metal; it is especially used for cooking meat. The griddle comes in various sizes; a grill of suitable size is bought separately to fit in the griddle. Earlier forms of griddle and grill involved wood or coal as the primary fuel, but these days it is replaced with a propane fuel tank.

In today’s market the propane grill/griddle is often can be used as a multipurpose stove, it can be independently used as a griddle or grill. It can also be used only to heat the grill and cook meat. The complete set of the propane based cooking range comes with burners and the grill which makes cooking faster and easier. The size of the griddle varies anywhere from 20-40 inches in length. Appropriate grill can be placed above the griddle.

These days there are griddles available which come with a non-stick coated surface, the heat is said to reach the grill in just fifteen seconds. The normal burner in the griddle can be used for heating a cooking pot or similar usage. The grill is used to cook barbeque and other varieties of meat, the height of the grill from the griddle can also be adjusted in certain models. Just like the normal stove the griddle also has a heat regulator which is used to control the amount of propane that enters the stove, by adjusting the regulator the heat in the griddle can be increased or decreased.

Some of the modern day griddles have a windshield arrangement which is built-in; this is used to prevent the flames from being put out due to the wind. They normally have two burners and are available in two or more color shades. They are of great use while camping or just a family picnic, the griddle just needs a propane filled fuel tank to keep it running, and the food can be cooked in a short time.
