There is only one catch with the propane tankless water heater: that it is more expensive then the traditional tank water heater. It is more efficient but expensive. Think about the amount of savings it is going to mean to your home in the long run. It does not need a lot of effort to be maintained and it is durable. It can keep up with the large demand for hot water if you live in a large household with many people needing hot water at the same time.
