Cleaning Credit Report

Accessing your report is the basic thing. Get one at all costs and that is free of charge. The next thing is that, to be a smart operator you should not leave it all to the credit agencies to bill you. Remember that they will usually display what the creditors give them without hunting around for errors or mistakes. Therefore, there is a high chance that your credit report will always have a mistake or two. Such mistakes if not rectified can be detrimental to your credit score outlook and that is the reason why we use credit cards, to be credit worthy.

Your personal log should detail all the credit that you have borrowed in a certain year so that if it does not tally with the credit report, you will know how to dispute it. After you find that your credit report needs to be rectified, then its time that you decided whether you want to do it personally or whether you would like to hire the credit repair bureaus to do it for you. Of course the law says that you can file a complaint with the credit bureaus for free. Free here is expensive because the same credit agencies are only able to settle one error in at least four hours.

When you establish the need for cleaning credit report, then you should hire the credit repair bureaus. These ones come in handy as they add a touch of professionalism and the credit bureaus are bound to serve them quicker. What they do is that for a fee, they review your credit report, point out the errors and send out the dispute papers together with the relevant documents out to the credit bureaus. A client/consumer is given a waiting period of three days. However, during this process of record cleaning, care should be taken that you are not duped to giving out more information than you should. You never know who might be looking over your shoulder. Therefore, do not in any case give out your credit card number. Remember too that some credit repair bureaus claim to be able to write off bankruptcy; this is an enticement and you should not pay any extra money for it. The law states that once you get into bankruptcy, it stays on your credit record for at least ten years. Within the three day waiting period, if you feel that you want to go it alone, you can always pull out before you can pay any money. Generally, cleaning your record should be easy if you pay your bills on time and keep only the cards that you need.
