Cheap Bathroom Scales

In today’s health conscious world almost every one wants to stay trim and lose some weight and to be able to monitor how one will fare with a diet or exercise program. To be able to achieve this knowledge a set of bathroom scales will be required. Bathroom scales are of two types, one is the digital variety and the other is mechanical scales. The mechanical scales are also known as the dial or analog scales. Of the two varieties, the digital scales are considered to be more accurate than the mechanical scales and costs very much more. Apart from these basic types are the more advanced digital models that can read body-fat. Then there are the more advanced ones that are able to send information of a person’s weight through a Wi-Fi system to the computer or even the mobile phone and maintain a track record of weight-loss or gain. Mostly these need 2 lithium batteries to be activated and these digital scales don’t come cheap.

On the other hand the mechanical or analog set of bathroom scales is very much cheaper than the digital scales. But the drawback here is they won’t remain accurate for too long. These mechanical scales are made up of very intricate and rather delicate components such as springs that can lose its tension or break easily. Another factor is the print on the dial is typically smaller and over time becomes difficult to read and these are the cheap bathroom scales that are available in the market. There are a whole range of cheap bathroom scales from reputable manufacturers. The plus factor in having mechanical scales is that it can handle higher weights than the digital scales would.

The more professional mechanical scales are what doctors’ use in their clinics or the ones found in gyms. These are notably rated for better accuracy, but are not cheap bathroom scales.

Good mechanical scales should be consistent in measuring weight every time you hop on it giving you the same reading as it did when you checked it out in the store. Another factor to look for is a large dial that has a larger print and is easy to read.

Body fat scales are not considered to be accurate and not recommended by the medical professionals. They should not be used by patients who have implanted pacemakers and pregnant mothers. The electrical currents that are sent through the body to gauge the body fat issues can interfere with the functioning of the pacemaker causing it to malfunction.
