Software Quality Assurance And Testing

What is software quality assurance and testing? If you have heard of these terms but are unaware of what they do you are in the right place. Software quality assurance is a rating given to software products once they have been through the testing process. The process is meant to monitor and improve the software for its effectiveness based on industry standards that exist.

In software quality assurance and testing, all companies must adhere to the same standards. During the testing phase the standards and procedures will be followed where problems are found and dealt with. Software quality assurance and testing is more about prevention of user issues. Software often has bugs. It could be the programmer rushed a little something in the process, or didn't account for certain keystrokes. It may also be a typing error that was never caught. No matter the cause of the bugs they can be fixed with software quality assurance and testing.

Testing is going to involve the operation of a system or application in controlled conditions so that the results can be evaluated. Normal and abnormal conditions will apply. For example, a software tester may rigorously test the software in one session and then test it how the average user would be using the program. Any issues that arise would then be fixed.

With software quality assurance and testing there are some examples we can offer. Say you are testing a new word processor that will rival MS Office. You know that if you click on the software application it should open, load, and either come up with a blank document or ask what type of template you wish to use. However, in the software quality assurance and testing instead of offering a blank document it fails to load. This would be a bug.

Another example of software quality assurance and testing is a rigorous test on the same example. You decided to go in through another door. You know if you open a save document you can go to the menu and select a new document. Most individuals will not use this because it is more complicated unless they already have a document open.
