The most important safety regulations on the tank are the observation of the water content level. This level is stamped on the label and the filling personnel must ensure that the WC value is used to determine the percentage of the propane that can be pumped into the tank at any given time. If the propane pumped into the tank exceeds the 42% of the WC value, the tank may be exposed to the possibility of exploding or the valve getting damaged due to too much pressure should the tank be subjected to heat.

Regarding the certification of the tank, it is important to note that the certification is very important in ensuring that the safety standards set by the international bodies do not get compromised in the course of the tank being in service. Just like all other equipments and machinery, tanks ware out of too much use and its condition could deteriorate with time. For this reason, the law demands that the tank should go through the certification after the first twelve years in use and if it is proven to be safe enough to remain in use, it will be certified for another period of five years after which it will be checked again after every five years as long as it remains in use. This is to make sure that any damaged tank can be eliminated from the market to avoid the risk of accidents.
