When there is a need to check out things that we use everyday, we tend to use trial and error to determine the usability of everything. By using things we test out the effectiveness of it and how well it works for our purposes. Usually before we buy something, we will look on the internet or at the store where we buy it in order to spend our money wisely. For this we rely on the research and testing that is done by others. Unbiased testing done by independent consumer agencies are more credible to us than those reported by the manufacturers themselves. Sometimes we want to do our own research. When we decide to conduct our own research and our interest is in building materials we may access destructive testing equipment to help with our research. Safety and human side effects are tested to ensure that the product is safe and doesn't harm people, animals, or even plants that we use for food. The government of our country sets guidelines for all manufactured goods and processes that are used by people in consumer use or in manufacturing or farming. Destructive testing equipment is often used to set these guidelines. Once these guidelines are established they a published and are expected to be followed. Unfortunately, we are not able to regulate products imported from other countries. In this case we can use destructive testing equipment to test imported items to see if they meet our minimum standards.
