Small Bathroom Vanities

If you are one of those people who would rather do things on their own, then you should go for the small bathroom vanities. These models are very easy to install into your bathroom. You do not need to have any professional experience to fit the tools into your bathroom. The vanity pieces are also a very good way of saving on space.

Before you decide on a particular model; you should visit some of the outlets that sell the bathroom vanities and go over their collection. Visiting various shops will enable you to make a very handy sale.

Once you have settled for the vanity that appeals to your taste, you need to think about getting rid of the older model. Before you start taking of your old vanity, you will need to switch off your water supply system that is connected to it. Make sure you use the cut off switch. If you have a hard time locating the switch, you might have to switch off the whole water system.

Once the water supply is taken care of, you should proceed with disconnecting the drainage system. Also, disconnect the water leading to the faucets. After you have disconnected the water supply, remove the clips that are used to hold the sink in place. You can do this using a screw driver. After you have removed all the clips, the sink will easily come off.

You can then try and remove rest of the vanity top. You need to look at its base to understand how it is attached. The first thing you need to do it to cut off the chalking on the top and bottom areas. Then you should remove the vanity top using a pry bar. Make sure you exercise caution lest you damage the wall.

Before you begin to replace the vanity, make sure that there are no repairs that need to be done. If there is any water that may have spilled on the floor, make sure you dry it off. You can now measure the dimensions of your new bathroom vanity.

Select the area in which you will position the new bathroom fixture. Use the tape measure to determine the height at which you want to place the new vanity. Mark the spots and be sure that the measurements are level. Measure the dimensions of the water pipes and the drains and then fix them onto the new set. Place the new vanity into position. If it is not level, you can use the shims to balance it out. Replace the old sink with the new one. Now you can fix everything in place.
